Hi everyone, I’ve been building Inchframe, a local-first Windows production workspace for AI-assisted video.
I started working on it because generating clips is only one part of a production. Once a project grows beyond a few experiments, the story, scene plans, references, prompts, provider outputs, alternate takes, audio, costs, reviews and final exports can become scattered across different tools and folders.
Inchframe is intended to keep that production together. It connects supported AI providers and compatible ComfyUI workflows while organizing the work around the complete project—from initial planning through scene creation, review, assembly and delivery. Projects and production records remain local by default; creators connect their own provider accounts and pay those providers directly.
It is currently available for Windows as paid desktop software with a no-card 7-day Pro demo. I’m also evaluating whether a Mac version should be the next major priority.

I’m trying to base the next decisions on how filmmakers actually work, rather than asking whether people simply “like” the idea. I created a 5–7 minute survey about respondents’ most recent real AI-video project, including:
- Tools and providers used
- Where rework occurred
- Time and provider spending
- File and version organization
- Review, audio and delivery problems
- Windows versus Mac workflows
- What evidence would make a production workspace worth paying for
