I’ve seen all the awesome video generation tools. They are great. I make amazing things. I’m still not totally sure how to use them at work though.
What are the best AI tools for plain old video editing? Like if I want to sort footage better, edit faster, etc.
If anyone’s using AI for this kind of thing effectively, I’d like to hear about it.
I actually don’t know a lot about this area. But there are a two good ones.
OpusClip is fantastic for making short form videos for social media. You can drop in a 90-minute video of someone talking and it will cut it into dozens of vertically-edited 30 second clips with subtitles. They have video generation b-roll features too. Overall, it’s more for social media video editing rather than narrative editing. I use it often.
Kino is for intelligently searchable footage. Supposed to help with media management. I have not actually tried it, but I met the founders who were impressive and gave me a demo. I actually sent them a 2 TB drive of dailies to help train their model. Which at least tells me they are building proprietary technology rather than building wrappers on top of other stuff.
