Sloomoo After Dark is a one-night event at the Sloomoo Institute in Los Angeles where several gen AI artists will show off slime-themed AI film projects.

The event is hosted by Backlot AI and Machine Cinema Multiple artists will have interactive works there including:

• “Magic Pond” - Gen AI artist Brian Wankum will show off a video model he’s fine-tuned to turn anything into slime.

• “Sloomoovie Station” - Gen AI filmmakers Maddie Hong, Jagger Waters, & Verena Puhm will show off an exhibit that makes personalized micro-movies for the viewer in minutes. Slime theme likely.

• “Walk On…” - Gen AI artist Louie Pecan is an AI experience that lets you walk on virtual fire.

• & many more.

There will be a lot of AI filmmakers, gen AI enthusiasts and cool people there!

This was a super fun event. I especially liked the silly putty computer interface concept and of course the pizza! A lot of interesting conversations about AI of course.

Sloomoo after dark was indeed a lot of fun. I did a little write-up about it actually. The slime interface that Louie Pecan made was a highlight. Here’s a photo of a certain filmmaker operating it.
